While we are meant to enjoy our beloveds when life goes smoothly, it’s truly the tough times-the moments that pinch that provide us with our opportunity for conscious growth.
Most of us however miss that opportunity during moments of conflict as we get trapped in our feelings and negative thoughts and spiral into the distraction of creating more chaos.
Do You Expect Others and Situations to Change Before You Can Be Happy?
Even though you believe the words: “Be the change you seek”, are you still waiting for peace to arrive?
You may be convinced that you’d be happy if your family appreciated you more, if your bank account was full, or if you could finally take the two-week break that you need so badly.
But, if you believe that your happiness will only happen when circumstances change and others shift their behavior, you are giving your power away and that will leave you feeling inadequate, and powerless.
Although you may wish to live in the higher realm of who you are, if your actions speak to your belief that your peace is reliant on anyone other then you, you are mistaken.
I’m certain that you have a variety of wishes, hopes and aspirations. If we were to look at all of the different dreams you have for your life they would most likely all come down to one word. That word is peace.
Whether you wish for financial wealth, excellent health, or your dream is finding your ultimate romantic relationship, each of these wishes represent to you safety, security and love, which all translate into one word, peace.
You may think that if you had as much money as you want you’d experience peace. You may be certain that if you had romantic love you’d would finally be happy. You may hold the belief that perfect health is your ticket to a great life.

Now here’s the juice.
Are you on a path going nowhere?
People from many parts of the globe come to me with the same requests.
“I want to end the drama and have a peaceful life”.
“Please help me be financially abundant”
”I want to heal my body”
“I long for a romantic partner”.
While these pleas are very different, they all speak to wanting peace. The common element in all of these requests is that all of the folks asking for help are on a spiritual path.
They go to workshops, they read books, they meditate, they do yoga, but still their daily lives are not a representation of their spiritual values. They are puzzled and frustrated as they are unable to THRIVE beyond their circumstances.
They wonder, With all of my spiritual efforts why am I not moving forward?
Spiritual transformation Does Not Come From External Sources!

We live in a time when many are hungry for connection to the divine. We don’t need to seek externally for connection, although many of us do. We read books, we take workshops, we study with teachers, we meet in groups. All of this activity is helpful. But we truly don’t need to seek externally for the connection that we seek.
Loving what is. How is it that in our human consciousness, our being, our energy in human body, why is it we have such a hard time loving what is?
If I were to ask you where would you like your life to be, would you rather have a life that’s grounded from your interior world, or would you rather retain a life that’s grounded in physicality? You know physicality. It’s that world of being a human. It’s living in the physical world. A place that we all know is full of an awful lot of chaos.
Very often when we look to make shifts in how we be or we want to add practices into our life or we want to reflect, we want to have the active practice of reflection and observation about how we’ve been in the world in order to make our life our practice, it always seems as if, for many people, that we have no time. “Finding the time” seems to be beyond the reach of many people. So, great intentions never get realized. Often, when people think about making shifts in their behavior, or simply looking to add time onto their day in order to reflect and add the practice of meditation to their day it seems as if there’s no time.
Making decisions for many people can be a very, very difficult task. In fact, some people get paralyzed making commitments. Other people, regard decision making, as quite simple or quite easy.
I remember when I was a little girl, my grandfather, my mother’s father,Jack was from Poland. He was a tailor and he lived in the Bronx with my Grandma Lily. He was one of the wisest people I know. I absolutely loved him and he adored me.
