PERCEPTION: “a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression” Some folks would tell you that our world is full of facts. Others would tell you that everything you see is an illusion, as we all have different perceptions so how could anything be any one way? Have you ever been totally certain of a truth only to see it morph into something completely different? At one time people held the belief that the earth was flat, women were inferior to men, and only birds were meant to fly… What perceptions do you hold that need a new view? ...
We all love company. We want to be loved and to love. And to love we think we need others, and sometimes we do… BUT There are times when we are asked to walk alone. To reflect, to ponder, to meditate, to endure, to rectify, to wander, to wonder,to go through the dark night of the soul, to come out the other side. When you are called to walk alone be gentle with you. Walk with an open heart, and a brave soul and compassion for all that you are. ...
Spirit opens the right doors at the right time and leads us to where we are meant to be. We need only open our eyes and ears and hearts and Invoke our courage to move us forward. What new spot in your life are you being guided to? ...
How often do you get stuck in your stories, repeating a painful and event or difficult time over and over never manifesting what you so richly deserve because you are too busy repeating past pain?? You know the stories. The one about why you can’t leave a love behind, or the damage that was done to you when you were a child? How about the story where you will never have enough? Enough money, enough things, enough love? Or the story about the world being a terrible place where everyone is unkind and nothing is ever fair. We are all given many experiences that show up as irritations, challenges, and tragedies. We can either create stories to keep these challenges alive or we can move through them. Difficulties are opportunities in disguise. Leave your stories behind by responding from a place of patience, from compassion. Invoke understanding or wisdom and ...
Most of us at one time or another feel compelled to tell people how they should live their lives. Usually it’s because we feel an emotional charge triggered by their actions and we are driven to let them know. Our ego has been challenged because we are “right” and their actions were wrong. Our need to be “right” trumps our innate desire for peace and develops a life of its own. You might find yourself starting your sentences with: “You should have” or “how come you never” or “I told you to.” These are globalized statements that are usually not well received as they reek of your ego speaking, not your inner wisdom. They put others on the defensive and speak loudly of your need to “be right”. If you see yourself here, practice the art of refraining. Choose to not give your opinion. But if the urge is too ...
“Your beliefs become your thoughtsYour thoughts become your wordsYour words become your actionsYour actions become your habitsYour habits become your valuesYour values become your destiny”– Mahatma Gandhi The quote above has always been a mantra for me. The power of this statement is that it truly speaks to the need for awareness and consistency between our values and our actions in our world. Everything in our LIFE flows from our beliefs… What concepts do you hold that are running your life? Are you aware of your thoughts, your words? I mean really aware. Are you able to listen to yourself as you speak? Are your words in alignment with your actions? Will your destiny truly represent your values? ...
Patience and wisdom are two physical manifestations of the energy of love that resides within us all. We need however to consciously activate these qualities in order for their value to be experienced in our life. Luckily for us, the Universe through our daily life, provides us with plenty of opportunity to practice these states! Patience requires waiting, not giving in to our immediate needs. When we wait we have the opportunity to ask: Why is this event in my life? What face of love am I being asked to respond with? What is the higher purpose this situation can serve and what is my role here? When we are patient we also leave room for the Divine to step in and support our efforts in whatever ways benefit our higher good and the higher good for all. If we plow ahead without reflection, demanding answers immediately, without interest in ...
Do you just talk the talk? Or are you truly willing to walk the walk. I notice that so many people are coming to the world of spirituality. Many are interested in knowing what their future will look like. Others love to hold crystals and practice putting their energy into these beautiful, beautiful stones. Many people are interested in connecting to their angels, their saints. Others are reading books, going to workshops, becoming a better person. Practicing how to expand their intuitive mind. This is all good. Any connection we have with the interior whether it be meditation, yoga, time spent learning about the difference between the egoic mind and our loving nature, all of it is good. There comes a point in the journey of a spiritual student where they know that it is we who emprana the stones. It is our willingness to open to spirit and live ...

Out of alignment, would that be you? I know there are times it’s me. For all the work I’ve done, for all the information that I know, in my humanity there are still small pockets where I notice I’m out of alignment. You know, these places of being out of alignment, these are great opportunities to practice so many faces of love. There is the time I practice compassion for myself because I notice I haven’t been kind. I practice patience because I so want to teach and I want my day to day life to be all about teaching so I need to practice patience as my teaching practice grows. I notice I’m out of alignment when I’m tired and I’m on a train in New York. I just want to close myself off from everybody else. I’m feeling not open-hearted. That’s when I practice kindness to myself. I ...
